Month Eleven

February 10, 2016

We made it to the end of the first year! If you missed it, I wrote a letter to Noe for her first birthday. What a wild ride it’s been. Now that we are past the year mark I don’t know if I’m going to continue the monthly updates.  I love having these to read back over (there is so much I’ve already forgotten about the early months) so I may change my mind, we’ll see. Thoughts? Are these posts helpful? Interesting? Should I take your silence as a nod that they’re boring?  Regardless, the last one to round out the first year, month 11.

I can hardly believe this is the same baby.

As I mentioned before, Noe was slow to start crawling but now there is no stopping her. She’s crawling and pulling herself to standing on sturdy things. She also does a mean downdog.

…she’s nimble…

With the move coming we’ve half baby proofed our house but we need to do some serious baby proofing in our new place.

On the eating front, she is such a foodie. She loves breakfast time and won’t tolerate it if you’re eating something in front of her, even if it’s the same thing. She wants yours!

I finally gave up on trying to cut things up and just started giving her whole bananas and apples, crackers, granola bars, etc.

She is still obsessed with water and drinking out of her own glass. Straws and sippy cups won’t cut it. She also loves mom’s tea which I usually just let her put her mouth up to but not actually drink.

Some of her favorite foods have fallen by the wayside like applesauce but there is no stopping this girl’s love for hummus. She is crazy about it and eats it at almost every lunch and dinner.

There was a lot of football watching and cheering on the Broncos over the past few weekends. Including a birthday party with our family.

This month brought on Noe’s first real cold. She had a runny nose a few months back after all our travel but hasn’t actually been sick sick until a few weeks ago. She had a fever for a few days and was overall just blah. Thank goodness for Tylenol and green juices.

We had a few really nice days in January so we took advantage by getting to the park in the afternoons. She loves the swings.

We hit up storytime most weeks.

She also adores music and dances along to videos.

We took her to the Denver Children’s Museum which was really impressive but I think she is still a bit too young to really enjoy it. This smoke machine was the hit.

We continue to get out everyday for a walk or a run and a little stretching.

This month Noe also decided that she hates socks. She won’t wear them and within seconds of putting them on her feet they’re off.

month 11

Eli and Guy are her best friends and she spends a large part of her day chasing the kitty around the house. Guy is really in for it when she starts walking.

For her birthday she had her first cupcake. It was mostly a success but after a while she just started crumbling the cake part in her hands and throwing it on the ground.

I got a little nostalgic and did a side-by-side in the same spot as last year. Feels like an eternity ago and yet, as though no time has passed. pregnancy-before-after

I just love my little bug so much.

month-11

She’s silly and stubborn and caring and wonderful.

Month 11 Stats:

Weight: We’re heading to the doctor on Friday and we haven’t weighed her since Christmas so I’m not sure but she’s wearing 9 month (really only pants) and 12 month clothes.

Likes: Music, the kitty and her nanny Elle. She just loves her.

Dislikes: Trying to be fed. She’d much rather do it on her own.

Sleep: She’s still going down around 6:45 and sleeps until about 6:45. She’s taking 2 naps a day: one at 10 and one at 2 both for about an hour. She did discover the baby monitor cord a few days ago and even those it was ziptied to one of the slats managed to pull it into the crib with her. It’s now taped to the crib, she’s one sneaky little girl.

Breast feeding: Two times a day (first thing and last) but will likely wean her off the morning feed after our appointment on Friday. She doesn’t seem all that interested in it anyway.

I think that’s it for month 11. What a year it’s been!

Enjoy and Exhale!
