A recipe. On this blog?! Who am I? Well, not that you can really call this a recipe but it is food or Pear Kale Green Juice at least. That counts right?
A few week’s ago, Michael scheduled our nanny, made a reservation and took me out to dinner for my birthday. I was really excited to be out on the town. We were celebrating my birthday but also new adventures back in a familiar place. Yes, we’re moving again, back to the Bay Area. So when the waitress asked if I wanted a second glass on wine I said yes.
(I was also making Michael a juice and he doesn’t like grapefruit and adores lemon, hence why the apple and lemon are included above).
Since having Noe I’ve really scaled back on the booze. Not that I really drank that much to begin with but, there is no sleeping in these days so the idea of being even the littlest bit hungover usually makes me question the second glass. But that night, I got a little swept up in the celebration. Needless to say, I was regretting my decision at 6:30am.
That next morning, not feeling coffee or tea, Noe and I took a run and ended up at Pressed Juice Daily for a green juice. The juice completely hit the spot and was absolutely delicious but when they rang it up for $9 my breath caught. $9! For a juice?! I knew that would be the last time I’d be able to stomach buying instead of making my green juice.
So, while my wallet may have been crying, my tastebuds were dancing. The flavor combo was refreshing, slightly sweet and had to be recreated. The result was this pear kale green juice that I’m absolutely in love with.
- 1 pear
- 5-7 leaves of kale
- 1 cucumber
- 4 stalks celery
- 1 grapefruit, skin removed
- 1 lime, skin removed
- Handful of cilantro
- Place each of the above ingredients in a juicer and enjoy.
Even Noe loved it!
Enjoy and Exhale!
